Not a problem! Looking forward to seeing how yours goes, and how you do things differently. My dad used to say a 'smart' man learns from his mistakes, but a 'wise' man learns from someone else's mistakes...

Saw your new project and wanted to check this one out. Very cool. I really like how you preserved so much of the original truck.

Excellent rig all the way around, wow. All the black looks great with dark blue. The hood was a great choice.

Beautiful truck! To have done such a fine job with an angle grinder as your main cutting tool is phenomenal! You’re a natural at metal fabbing. Curious about the blue cab lights being you live in cali as do i. Its my understanding that it is illegal in this state to have red or blue lights that face forward due to the fact that law enforcement uses those colors on their vehicles for stopping people. Wondering if the law man has given you any problems about that. Was also wondering what gage steel you used to make the piece that has the tail lights mounted to it. The one you welded between the frame rails. Looks like the same thickness as the frame rails. How did you bend it? Thanks for sharing the knowledge

Thanks for the compliments.

I dug through the DMV code and online and couldn’t find any clear evidence it was illegal in this application of the blue marker lights. I always thought if I got pulled over and informed I was incorrect, I’d swap them out.

That tail lamp channel piece was actually part of the frame extension for the camper that I cut off and repurposed.

Re: Project “Blue Bomb” (rebirth of a 1970 c30)

Hey Guys, I have owned a '63 C-10 for decades. It's off for paint right now after much dinero in upgrades. That being almost done I took the plunge and bought a '70 C-10 Dump truck. I'm heading down to WV to get it Thursday. I will take a photo when I get it back up to Maine. One thing I do need if anyone has a line on one is the emblem on the grill with "Chevrolet" on it. Any info one where I could get one would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete
