Had anyone used this?

Just bought the 3M paint defender system. The boxes say it sprays on a film layer that protects from rock chips exc in the areas of application. Also says that the clear film will be able to peel off after one year.

I was thinking about using this on the front of my 71 hood since it is a flat surface that everything loves to hit.

Re: Had anyone used this?

I have used the 3m clear wrap like material but not this. 3m is a very reputable company so it would be worth giving it a try. Do several coats of it so that its thick enough to be removed. Kinda like plasti dipping. That's just my $0.02

I bought some the other week but haven't used it yet. For the same purpose as you.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Interested in your findings. I assume it is like plasti dip. Do a test surface first. I do have the peel and stick 3m on my rockers and wheel wells... it works very well. Was warned off by an oem installer suggesting it can actually peel the paint off when removed in the future.

A couple of things turn me off on the film. The edges get dirt around them and you cant get it out. When you peel the film off you have the glue left on the vehicle.
