Post Carter AFB 600 CFM

I bought a new Carter AFB 600 CFM carb about 4 years ago, it is manual choke, havent had any problems with it, but I was trying to tune the idle and mixture screws while it idled, sounded pretty good at idle, took it out on the freeway, and it feels like it is missing. Does anyone know how exactly to tune one of these?
