Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

They’re Spintech 6000XLP. Had the 3000 series before and decided to tone it down a bit. Although the 3” system will probably offset that, lol.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

8.5 years to install my door panels. Only item pending is my front bumper is being re-chromed, at least I think so.

Can you believe they tried to give me a knock-off front bumper, declaring it rechromed? I was PSST. Yeah, they "found" my bumper. They had it 6 months and never touched it.

I don't like the logo on the floor mats, ordering plain black.

Thank you, and I do too. Yes they are SMS, it's the original material.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I got a DrawTite 14082 10k hitch. The frame rails were a little tweaked. I taped a board to each side and had some hammer time. Got them straight and 34” now.

got my headlight and wiper switch replaced, got the broken defroster lever in. Still working on drilling out the pot-metal bosses to bolt that little plate back on over the lever pivots.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Got the shocks, springs, sway bars, and new track bar. I got 1” front and 2” rear drop springs. I will be switching to 31x10.50-15 tires. We’ll see how it looks when it’s back together with the new tires. I can always do spindles and drop blocks if need be.
Tonight I got the rear springs and spring cups installed. Got antisieze everywhere. I can’t even take the lid off without making a mess. Then got the shocks and track bar installed.
I’ll be ready to put the box back on when I can scrounge up some “volunteers” to help.

I also plan to reposition the exhaust sections for the best clearance and have them welded to get rid of all the exhaust clamps.
Helen Keller did her best attempt with the rear brake line, but I’m gonna see if I can build a new one.

Marking wires and making pdf notes on the wiring diagram so my head won't explode.
Putting the ducts back together for hopefully the last time, reconnecting the a/c control panel, and swapping led lights into the instrument cluster.

Installed an 8k tach along with a modified OE lens. Designed the text based on the stock 5k tach and then had a local shop print it on there for me.

That's very nice! My FiL put a vacuum gauge in the tach location and a tach up by the A-pillar on the dash pad. I'd rather have the tach where it belongs and the vacuum gauge in the unused hole, but there is a trans temp gauge in front of that. I'm old and don't have your energy. It'll probably be like that when my son inherits it.

...and I don't think I'll ever run that BBC over about 4500 RPM.
