1972 GMC 4x4 Short Bed

Just picked this up, wrecked kind of hard on the nose.

Is this a rare truck?

I have found out that there are no production records for GMCs but
have seen that there was less than 7000 72 Chevys like this, which
doesn't seem like a lot.
Forgot to take pics before tearing it apart to fix it up, it is going
to the frame shop next week to fix the right front corner.
The transmission housing was busted at the transfer case mount, partly
because of the wreck and mostly because the bottom 2 bolts that hold the tranny to the transfer case were left out.
Do to the tranny I removed the cab and box along with the front clip and decided to remove engine, tranny, and transfer case so they just have a bare frame to work with.
Plus I am thinking of having the frame blasted and powder coated.
