Isn't it possible that because of the fact that it has painted bumpers it would more than likely had painted caps, I say that without seeing the SPID

I was referring to the photo example posted. Mine of course has chrome bumpers front & rear with front bumper guards as well. But I understand your point.

Very nice truck. Can we get a pic of the spid in the glovebox? It has had a few things done to it that make me wonder about some previous upgrades.

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor

you beat me to it Joe - and although difficult to tell with the small pics when I blow them up a bit, they appear to be mounted too far fwd for a stock 71-72 mount location. If there are no original mirror holes on the doors present (I can't tell in the pics) then it is an indication of a repaint. Went on a fishing expedition for 72-only vent window dimples, but none of the pics capture that area clearly enough.

Dmoore, we'll be a lot more help when you get a chance to post the SPID and maybe figure out how to post some larger overall pictures (I realize you don't have the truck handy at the moment, but when it shows up, that'd be very helpful). Very sharp and very interesting truck you've shared, looking forward to more!

Ok, I thought I had taken a pic of the lid and I did. Why I didn't get closer I can't tell ya. You may have to blow it up until he sends me a closeup. So if an option was not listed on this SPID the truck got what was standard equipment? Notice the tires/wheels/hubcaps are not listed. As is the power brakes. And wouldn't the radio be listed as AM/FM?

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor

The am/fm was not available in 69. I am thinking this truck may have had some resto work done at some point.

This truck is too original in all areas to have been restored. And the mileage is documented on 2 previous titles and on other papers. If in fact the am/fm was not available it may have been added but this truck has not been restored that I can grant you

Do you recall if the truck had a headliner in it?

That is a very nicely optioned truck. MOST 69s would have a headliner with the CST option. I think a few early ones didn't. The am/fm was added later.

I have see other 69 C20's with CST package online with a small section of headliner and wondered why this truck doesn't have one.

Is it possible the am/fm was available late in production or do you think it was not offered at all in any truck until after model year 69?

The bumper guards were added later and are the 71-72 style. The bed rails were also added later. Can't tell if they are GM or not from the pic. The am/fm was added at a later date.

Turn on the dome light from the dash and there is a small switch under the dome light on the roof to turn on.

Here is what the CST package included in 1969.

The SPID lists all the other “optional” items.
