Re: Interesting Roll Back

54blackhornet, thanks for posting that. Some interesting pics, love those older Vettes. James Garner was not only a TV/movie star, he was quite an accomplished race car driver in his own right. In the mid to late 60s he was co-owner of AIR ...American International Race Team. He got hooked on doing his own race car driving when he starred in '' Grand Prix " (1966) and showed quite a knack for it. Raced L88 Vettes with some success and flair.

Take the time to watch the movie Grand Prix and see some great European Formula 1 racing. Great movie and Jim did most if not ALL of his own driving.

Re: Interesting Roll Back

It's odd that the first two replies are from staff members. I don't know which forum it was in when I responded earlier. Definitely 67-72 content, so it's back where it started.

Talk about James Gardner and racing. How about his off road racing career??

Talk about these old 67-72 race car haulers. There sure were plenty running around back then

Re: Interesting Roll Back

I think the Scott bilt cabs are cool looking. Cooler than a hacked up Suburban, it's what makes this body style unique I believe. But, I've heard that their build quality wasn't the best. I'd love to build one out of 2 cabs someday.

If you get the chance check out "The Racing Scene" a documentary on Garner's race team.

Looks to me like maybe a stylized "spider", but not sure.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for different views that might shed more light on it.

Thanks guys for your support ! I have always tried to post interesting and educational posts. Deleting a post like this is just not appropriate in my opinion and it seems others agree.

I just wanted to go ahead and explain. A staff member (remaining unnamed so he is not tar and feathered ) moved the thread from the parts board. Pretty sure that it was not meant to be posted there, as the OP obviously knows the difference between parts sales and informational posts. (mistake 1) The staff member that moved it obviously made a mistake in doing so. It could had been that they thought it would be a great general talk topic, or that they misclicked when selecting the forum. (mistake 2) This thread was never deleted (mistake 3). I went through logs to figure out the issue. That is it in a nutshell..

It was posted in the wrong area, moved to a correct but not what OP wished area, (both work) and a staff member who saw the issue corrected it. Perhaps the staff is not whom needs to be a little less critical. Remember they are volunteer and human.

What's even cooler are the two Fleetside pickups with attached 'Vettes in the background.

If I posted this originally on the parts board my mistake ! And apologize! Funny it showed deleted on main area ? Sorry for all the confusion but the photo stands tall in my opinion.

No sweat. This is a relaxed truck forum, not Underground of Cheyenne Mountain. If you press the wrong button, your post gets lost, but eastern Russia does not get obliterated.
