Re: I wana drive 65.

picked up my motor plates.... local shop cut them for me cheap I hope they work with factory a/c braket if not then ill make somthin happen. If its not to cold I will start on the engine swap. However i did look at the dash and I think i can use the 64-66. I kinda like the way it looks when the stuff is test fit.

Re: I wana drive 65.

So the engine is in the frame. Started the wiring. I will be using all factory wiring (08) i want to use the auto dimming lights and daytime runnginlights ect. I also am installing the 08 colomn in there too. Looks and feels great. Only problem i have is with the brake pedal in the way. I think i can shift the colomn just off center to compinsate for it and still look good. If not the i will do somthin to the pedal shaft. I am using the 72 booster mount for now untill i can see what else will work.. Btw the stock booster and brackets are for sale.

Re: I wana drive 65.

there is alot to use on the original harness. like the headlight switch dash switch. not sure how the brake lites know when to come on yet. I found out that the fuep pumpharness goes into the abs/roll over control to turn the pump off.. well i cut all that out so I will have to rewire some stuff...im not so sure i want to use the a/c now because it so damn big. but i like the factory dual climate option... any ideas.

Re: I wana drive 65.

I had an 88 Suburban that I cut up and scrapped. I noticed that the frame is straight and lonnnnnng. Maybe if you come across one you can use that frame instead of making yours longer. Just a thought. Looks like you might have to much time into the one you have going anyway.

Re: I wana drive 65.

i have a 91 sub but I think it would take more little modifing then it would be just to use my extra frame and just reattatch the back half. I want to use the factory cab mounts for the extended cab.

I would stay with the older frames.......it would be easier IMO.
