Re: Taco Mini Bike

My first ever motorcycle wreck was on one of those in my best friends back yard when I was 9. Pumped up 7hp Taco modified by his Dad. Wheelied through the exterior wall of his neighbors house the first time i rode it. Destroyed their T&G redwood siding. Not a scratch on the Taco. Still crashing bikes 39 years later .

Sorry I don't have any parts but thanks for the memory!

Re: Taco Mini Bike

I had one as a kid. A guy down the street “Bud Coffee” worked for Steens and always had 2 or 3 in his garage. Conned my Dad into buying one and the rest is History. I built a Taco 22 for my oldest Son back in 78 when he was 3 and his son has it now. This one is for another Grandson once he grows out of his little electric bike

Re: Taco Mini Bike

I'd like to see you bring it up. I'd like a project like that, if I needed a project.

I’ll post as I go along. I’ve been in contact with Taco down in Los Angels for parts. So far they’ve been a big help

Re: Taco Mini Bike

I have a 68 Bonanza. Was going to do it with my grandson and decided to include his dad (my son) in on it. Brought the bike over to his place so he and my grandson could take it all apart so I could get it blasted.

They only partially got it apart so I grabbed it ... Sometimes you just have to do things yourself. Anyway they somehow managed to lose some parts, including the swing arm assembly. Sigh!

Our little Bonanza has been in the family 50yrs! Still is. Gone through some changes in it's life. Somehow misplaced the chrome plated railroad spike footpegs. Rollie Free couldn't be prouder!

That's cool. It's got suspension. All I ever rode had none.

Ya LOL if you want to call it suspension. Just a big spring in side the rear and long skinny spring on the front.
