Re: You asked for it... Junkyard pics...

I sure love those junkyard pictures. When i was in High School ('75) there was an area full of junkyards not far from me. One was FULL of AD trucks. Another one had a running '57 Buick Roadmaster I could have bought for $75 but my dad nixed the idea. This was in Santa Paula, California, off Wells road I believe - they may still be there.

I have to admit I didn't remember askng for more junkyard pictures but, I glad you remembered.
I have a soft spot for those 1940's KB's. My first vehicle was a 47 KB-5. It wasn't the coolest car in the parking lot in high school but it was the biggest.

Re: You asked for it... Junkyard pics...

Looks more like someone's personal collection (hoarding) than a junkyard.

Memory jolt! I remember the old yards in Santa Paula and all the great early iron in them! I remember all kinds of stuff that was "cheap" I wish I had today. Sadly those yards are gone but there is a pick the part out there that has something old every now and then.

These pics are from 3 different yards. Everything was for sale and the few parts i bought were reasonable.

Sorry, wasn't doubting that he pics are actually from salvage yards, but these yards are way different than what i am used to in Texas where cars are practically jammed on top of each other in barren muddy yards. I would love to walk the yards in the photos.
