Re: 67 Plain Jane C10

Hello fellow Orange County truck lover! I'm sure I could Google this process, but it's more fun to chat. You posted that your truck was "Built on 9/15/1966 in Fremont, CA and delivered...." How/where did you get that info?

Thanks,

Michelle

That info came straight from the Build Sheet.

Thank you. In the bottom picture I've swapped it to a short chassis I put together. The front has 2" drop spindles and 3" drop springs. Rear has c notch, adjustable track bar, 5" springs and 2" blocks. Those wheels are just rollers. Rallies with 235/75r15

Re: 67 Plain Jane C10

I decided on the COPO type poverty caps. I also found my light yellow mirror arm. I plan on painting the wheels light yellow to match.

Cool truck! Tell us please how long you've been looking and how you came across this gem in Arizona. Start at the beginning...

It was a total spur of the moment thing, I've always liked them and I've been thinking about finding a shop truck style C10 for Home Depot runs and the like.

On July 5th, a friend and I were discussing how cool C10's are and that it would be nice to have one. We saw some nice patina ones at the LA Roadster Show. I started looking on Craigslist. They were either junky with too many cheesy updates or very nice and too expensive. On July 6th, I decided to use Search Tempest to expand my search nation wide. Right away I found this truck listed on the Scottsdale Craigslist. I knew that it was a good find and I started email communications. I bought it the following morning. That afternoon I had it shipped home and I had the truck the following morning.

The last couple of weeks have been a pretty steep learning curve. So far my parts purchase have been good, a couple of bumps in the road, but overall pretty successful.

Wow, you have some amazing luck. Many guys spend months looking for something as clean and original as that. It's like you had the winning powerball ticket for finding a classic in record time. Well done, sir, well done....

That must have quite a story for only having 2k miles in 50 years.

I am in. I am also in for a good step side build. very nice start to a nice build.

FYI 67 never had a factory BB. You might have to modify frame slightly to make fit.

I'm well aware of the frame mods needed. To get clearance for the engine stands and exhaust manifolds, you have to notch the frame, as GM did on the 68 and later frames.

Does anybody have any templates or dimensions that I can use for cutting the frame?
