It made me angry and I was going to call and ask why give such short notice and no option to remedy the problem. I could have put a new roof on it. All this affected my primary residence and all it's contents over a shed out back. Before calling it hit me, they can go screw themselves. In fact, they just did. They aren't the only insurance co and I just called another who wrote me a policy right up. That was 20 years ago, that roof is still on there, and that company is still taking my money. I couldn't see twisting the other company's arm to take my money.
Exactly right. They aren't the only game in town. I had zero problems with the second company. I moved all my business to them. And the first company had to pay that jerk to come out and nitpick my house.

I think that they heard "rental' and didn't want to do it because they thought my tenant would thrash the place. But my tenant is also my cousin and he takes really good care of his stuff and I gave him one hell of a deal. About half of what I could rent that place for. He's not going to mess that up. If something needs attention. He fixes it. That was the deal. 5 years and he's never called me to fix anything. He only called me once to find out where to get fish food for the Koi pond.

Re: Well I did it now

In my case, I think they went on a campaign to cancel the old homes they were covering. They were under their own misguided asinine assumption that those present a higher risk. That was a national company. I went with a local one with higher ratings who understand old homes are built better, and you go by how well they are upkept, not how old they are. I remember when it was hard to get insurance for a Harley or full coverage on a car over 5 years old. That was back when Kelly Blue Book only went back 5 years.

Congrats on getting the shed issue wrapped up. Now grab that new guitar and an old amp and head out into the shed and Crank it up! Give them something else to worry about.

NOOO!! I'm keeping a low profile for a while. I still have to get my big German Shepherd in without complaints. And he's hard to miss.

Funny thing. There's only one house next to mine and it just went up for sale.

I don't know whether to be offended or not. They are asking way too much for it. A lot more than I paid and it's not nearly as nice. Maybe they heard that I paid more than I did and want to cash in.

Re: Well I did it now

Maybe they figure theirs is better because it doesn't have a crappy old shed that needs to be torn down

"The shed stays" is a new development. I'm sure they put the wheels in motion before you got your get out of jail free card

OR... maybe you haven't yet found out why yours was so cheap

The guy that I bought it from is already in Texas. He left nice furniture and nice appliances. I don't know story but he just wanted out. it's costing him money every month for a place that he doesn't use. Something tells me that he called this HOA nitwit and pitched a fit too. She was messing up his deal and I am paying cash and was going to walk. I'm sure that didn't make him happy. She folded like a house of cards.

No Bennies for me. I gag on pills. Heck I have to eat Gummy Bear vitamins.

I'm happy with the place. I found a old picture of it from when this guy bought it. What a POS. This guy must have spent a fortune fixing it up. And it had a really ugly shed in the front yard. I wonder if she thought it was still there. The shed in the back is new. All someone had to do was go look. This guy spared no expense. He obliviously intended to stay but cut out like a cell phone in the canyon. I don't know the story.

I wish I could post pic's. I don't know if it's my laptop but they won't show up.

Reminds me of women that I meet in bars.

Or my wife for that matter. They don't believe me either.

Well we signed the final paperwork today. What a PITA. One form after another. But I think we're done. Thank God. It was a lot of stress.

Now I have to go to LA and settle my mothers estate with my A hole brother. More stress. I wish my oldest brother had lived. He wouldn't have put up with this cr@p. Now it's all in my lap. It's not going to be pretty.

Even if I read it I wouldn't understand all that legal mumbo jumbo.

If I read it all I'd still be reading it, scratching my head. Too much information. Just tell me where to sign.
