Re: Spark plug heat shields - worth doing?

Just throwing this out there but how about LS spark plug shields? Don't know if they would work with 90 degree plugs wires unless they were cut down and they won't look period correct but they typically give them away at salvage yards.
Just a thought.

Thanks for that suggestion.
What I did today was cut the spot welds from the stock straight shield, re positioned, marked etc to work with my set-up. In the morning I will take it to a neighbor and have it spot welded and install it. I'll update this when done.

I got the stock type heat shield on the passenger rear side modified and welded.

Looks good. Manifold are sweet too. Did you get the 2.5 inch outlets?

Re: Spark plug heat shields - worth doing?

Just saw this post.
I bought shields for my 283 SBC. Got them from TruckandCarShop. They have retail shops in Concord, NC and in Calif.
They were $17 for the set of 4 shields. I have a few crusty originals laying around but for $17 I was happy to go with the repop. I think they fit fine with my GM rams horn exhaust.
