Transmission gear selector moving?

I have noticed recently that whenever I pull away from a stop my column shifter (automatic) sometimes moves to the left and if I don't hold it it will sometimes get in between neutral and drive.

Any ideas?

FWIW this is on my 87 Suburban with an 6.0LQ4/4L80 swap.
I'm using the Lokar shift linkage kit which works great, just trying to figure out why it's moving when I put a load on it?

Re: Transmission gear selector moving?

Are your motor mounts good? Usually this only happens when the engine is allowed to torque way over, generally due to a bad motor mount.

That is kind of what I was thinking too.
When I did the swap I replaced the clamshell mounts with new ones.
When I take a look at them now they seem to have collapsed a little.
I will look at replacing the inserts with prothane inserts. I already have a prothane trans mount.

Thank you for taking the time to help.
