Re: How many different trucks did you use to make yours
How many trucks? That's a good question. Can I give an estimate give or take a dozen? I'm thinking of my '67 GMC project, because it is created from parts. I like thinking how many states it comes from. Just the body started with the cab from CA, then front clip (minus hood) from Nebraska. Now I'm only using the grille and core support because I found nice fenders from KS. The hood came from NH, tailgate from OR. One bedside came from CA and the other from TX. The wood floor supports came from AZ. And the doors also came from CA, same as the inner fenders. Oh yeah, bed wheel houses from NM. That's 11 trucks there. Oh yeah, radio delete cowl cover from NJ, so a dozen trucks for the body.

Re: How many different trucks did you use to make yours
My wife's burb will only be about 3.
Body shell and frame original to it Engine and trans from a 94 Dodge 2500 that is scrapped now Front clip from some 67 Rear hatch from another burb The rest should stay the same with any luck. My Longhorn 72K20 Cheyenne Super cab from Kansas Cowl panel from a truck in Kansas Frame inner fenders, and doors from a Longhorn in Minnesota Bed sides from a Longhorn from Nevada Bed floor from a truck in Kansas Radiator support from an unknown Iowa truck Axles- Front from a 1992 Dodge Rear from a 2001 Dodge Engine from a 2002 Dodge Injection pump from a 1997 Dodge Trans from a 1995 Dodge Transfer case from a 1992 Dodge RH fender new, hood new, LH fender from the K20 Cheyenne super originally Seat from a 2004 Dodge 2500 Tilt column from a RV/camper Fuel tank new- Boyd Gauge cluster- new DD So, I guess it's at about 11 and an RV if you want to get technical. My 71 K20 project will probably be around this many or higher.

Re: How many different trucks did you use to make yours
]I used 3 trucks (so far) but I have searched out many of the car options from the Era that Cadillac and olds had so my truck is a combo of many 67 72 cars and trucks. Just the way Cadillac would have built a truck in 67.

Re: How many different trucks did you use to make yours
It all started 10 years ago the Original 1969 Chevy Camper Special was my Grandfathers that I rolled in and disassembled.
Then I purchased a perfectly good running / driving 1971 K20 for parts, and took it all apart. Bad mistake! 10 years later 2020 I purchase another 1971 K10 to play with and get me back in the work mode on the original 69 project. I ended up taking it apart as the frame needed some work put it back together and sent it off to the engine shop for an LS implant. Number 4 was the purchase of a 2008 engine transmission donor truck. Number 5 was a 1972 truck for parts. I am at 5 plus and will hopefully come out of this with 2 K20's and if I am lucky a SWB K10

Re: How many different trucks did you use to make yours
Mainly 2 for my 1970 Blazer.
I bought a extremely solid but wrecked 1972 Blazer mainly for the tub. My 1970 tub is junk due to rot. In addition to the tub, the '72 has provided the bucket seat brackets front axle/disc brakes, and LH inner fender

Re: How many different trucks did you use to make yours
I am guessing three. The cab forward and frame are all original. The bed box is new but my step side fenders appear to be one 68 (side marker but no hole for wiring) and the other 69-72. Both are rust free and never had any bodywork. I’m considering finding a body shop to cut and fill to make them 67’s.

Re: How many different trucks did you use to make yours
Mine is a 69 with a 67 front end. I have 72 mirrors and 65 arm rests. Also deleted marker lights and rally wheels. I'm not worried about being year correct I just choose what I think looks best.
When folks ask what year it is, I say "all of them". |
