Heater Control Disassembly How To

Thought I would document how I took my heater control apart to repair the lever arms. I have two A/C control assemblies and both have the middle lever arm broken. So now that I have it apart just need to get the lever arms ordered so I can replace the arms and get it in the truck.

Re: Heater Control Disassembly How To

Yes indeed. Did the write up to make sure I knew how to put it all back together again once my new control arms come in.

Re: Heater Control Disassembly How To

Very nice write up, wish I would have seen this a couple years ago when I did mine. Quick question, when I bent the face plate tabs up I think two broke. Any trick to to bending that pot metal, or whatever it is, so they don't break when bending/tapping them down during reassembly?

Re: Heater Control Disassembly How To

NorCal, I did break one tab out of the six. I used a pair of pliers the width of the tab to bend them out of the way. I bent them just enough so that the faceplate cleared the tabs. The real test will be when I try and put it back together.

Re: Heater Control Disassembly How To

Well I got my new control levers and thought I would do a write up on it. I did break two of the six tabs. Hope it is helpful and makes sense.
