Just bought this truck and it has the exhaust coming out in front of the rear tires. I was thinking of changing it and putting it behind the rear tires on a 45 degree angle. The truck does have the factory overload leaf spring. What are your thoughts leave it or change it?

Personal preference really. I had behind @ 45* exits but changed to in front of wheels. I may change some day to a straight out the back setup. Try it and see. And welcome to the forums.

I prefer out the side behind the rear wheels. It helps prevent droning in the cab.

I prefer out the back at each corner like a factory would be. You can barely see it in the last picture.

Mine are out behind my tires. I wanted them further back but they couldn't as I have the auxiliary rear overload spring too.

Exhaust looks good coming out of any of the normal places, but different locations certainly change the sound. As far as in front or behind the rear wheel...In front will cause more dusting of the wheels especially if you travel any gravel roads. Behind cuts that down alot, but still dusts the bed side and bumper. Behind will reduce exhaust noise some, but probably not very noticable.

When duals exit on the sides (without the H or X pipe), the sound, as you walk around the truck, has more has more of a lope to it because you mostly hear that side of a V8's cylinders. This adds more of a race engine sound, but also adds to the cab sound levels.
My preference is straight out the back, but I'm getting older and peace is more important than lope.

Behind the rear tire requires more pipe bent to clear the axle...Its your preference and your wallet...

My exhaust exits in front of the rear wheels. That puts the mufflers underneath the cab, which warms up the cab floor. The extra heat in the cab is nice in the winter but not so nice in the summer. I plan to have the mufflers moved to under the bed.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
