1977 chevy chalet full time 4x4

Any info on converting the fulltime 4x4 to part time on the np203 t-case? Just wanting to get some better gas mileage and less wear on the pavement. Just ordered the mile marker conversion kit from summit and need some feedback before any install.

You won't save hardly any gas. My 76 rolls down the interstate at 70-80 with the 203 and nothing is worn out yet at 185k miles. It always sounds like unnecessary work to me.
