Mix&Match Burbs?

So,,,
I have 2 Suburbans:
1976 K20 350/THD400 (I believe)/NP203/ Barn Doors
1984 K10 35/THD350/NP208/ Tailgate

What I'd LIKE to do is swap the '84 onto the '76
BUT end up with the barn doors on the '84

ANYONE done this?

Guidance?
Opinions?

Re: Mix&Match Burbs?

I would think you’d be able to pull this off. Just swap all the hardware and backing plates for the barn doors to the other body. All the right holes should be there to line everything up. You may have to figure out the courtesy light switches/circuit though as I’m sure it’s in a different spot on the tailgate units.

Re: Mix&Match Burbs?

It can be done but the lower sill plate is different between the door styles. it can be swapped but its a bunch of work and welding. I have one I plan on doing that to at some point.
