Happy Thanksgiving, early

Happy Thanksgiving Day early to y'all. My family is gathering today instead of Thursday, considering work, travel and all. It's a beautiful sunny 35* right now.
I smoked a ham (boy have those gone up since I last bought one) it all has but for this day it doesn't matter. Family being together is what means the most.

The company I am employed at will bring food in on Wednesday for breakfast.

The guy that ordered it said A pan of ham cost $80.00.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, early

My plan is to run the Thanksgiving Day 5K in Lawrence Ks. This will be my second year running this one. Three years ago I ran the Turkey Tracks Thanksgiving Day 5K in KC.
Then the plan is to stop by the nursing home and have lunch with my mom.
My sons birthday is Thursday. He was born on Thanksgiving in 1983.

Happy Thanksgiving… gobble gobble ya’ll

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, early

We just got our fresh turkey Tuesday from a local turkey farm in town, brisket in the fridge waiting for more toppings and going in the oven, can't wait.
Happy Thanksgiving all.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, early

It's just the two of us now so I didn't want to do a whole bird. So I figured just parts. But we went to two markets here and there was no turkey in sight. Everybody was cleaned out. So we are having pork tacos with mashed potatoes/gravy, cranberry sauce, and stuffing. Sometimes you just gotta work with what you got.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, early

Tacos sound great about now.

Do turkeys come in any size but large? We would be way burnt out on it before it was gone.

I'm cooking in the low lands today. It's a bit chilly at the cabin...

You would be surprised how well that works. My buddy would bring burritos in his ice chest to a job wrapped in foil and heat them up on the exhaust manifold of the company truck. His wife was a good cook and she'd make a lot for the crew. They were yummy. We didn't get a lot of work done after we stuffed ourselves.

If you had this cookbook, you would never have gotten anything done!

So that's why people don't like headers. Hard to lay food on bent tubing

I need that cookbook. Then invite people over for dinner, sport one of those cool chefs hats, and pop the hood on my old flatbed and put a picnic table in back. They'd really think that I'd lost my marbles then.

We do that a good bit during the winters in the oil patch. No stores for miles around, it works pretty good!
