New from KANSAS

I am new to the forum and I live about 75 miles east of Wichita, Ks and I am looking for someone to do some work on my 72 c20 custom extended cab short bed. I need someone that is familiar to the 67-72 chevy truck. Some things that I am wanting done are to shorten the bed about 8" from behind the rear wheels, lower the stance, flare the fenders about 3"-4" and looking for someone with a good set of highway gears for my Dana 60 rear axle. And the list goes on and on. So if you might know of someone please let me know. Thank you for your time.
Robert

Re: New from KANSAS

I traded a 30 footer 66 mustang for my birth year 72 extended cab short bed the hard work had been done so now it is just a lot of smoothing things out (there was a receipt for new rims and tires in the glovebox for more then what i had invested in the mustang). The guy thought that he was getting over on me he thought that the motor was going bad but all that it was is the flywheel was cracked (his loss) there where a lot of new parts on the truck i think that the guy was just frustrated with the truck, the electric fuel pump had a short and would kick on and off and he had put a new flip out screen radio and complete stereo system that had some minor wiring problems. Some of my plans- trade out the turbo 350 trans for a 700r4, trade out the 411 gears for a better highway friendly gear. motor is already real strong with a 97 vortec 350, going with several body mods like install running lights in the front roll pan similar to that on the 69 camaros, maybe shorten the bed a little more from behind the rear wheel about 6-8 inches to balance the bed length, I have a custom idea that I want to try to the tailgate and lights that I have not seen anyone else try just yet. Plans for a complete custom interior; dash, center console and much more. The list goes on and on.

if anyone has photos of any 67-72 extended cabs please post them.

Another Photoshop of my truck with flared fenders (mine will be fared a little more then this)

Re: New from KANSAS

Is this a Stupid question?
I have a 72 c20 that the cab was extended and the bed shortened. I want the bed to look more proportioned. So do I cut the bed down from behind the rear wheels? Or should I put on a factory short bed and have the frame extended a little?

Not sure which would be less costly and not as much work? Any opinion is always welcome.

Re: New from KANSAS

If it were me I would find a shortbed and section the front half to fit, then adjust the frame as necessary, as a matter of fact I can point you to a guy who has several shortbeds for sale, send me a PM if interested.
