Low mile, original paint 72 K-20

Picked this one up this morning. Now you guys in the dry climates know what rust really is! Can't verify the mileage on it but was told it was a plow truck most of its life. A quick look shows it could be 50,xxx actual miles on it. I drove it down the road which is hard to do on snow and ice with the front brakes dragging. Still has the split rims even! Factory aux tank is MIA...
Enjoy the pics...

Nothing for sale right now... no time. Pretty sure it will get parted.

I don't think there is any saving this one. The frame is heavily pitted also.

The engine runs ok considering the gas smells bad. Probably will run good with fresh gas. Will probably part out in the spring.

The body is still 80% rust free. That's a lot of options on a Custom. Nothin' fancy.

One of the best color configurations on a K20 in my opinion. Such a shame its so rusty. Was this the one by duluth on craigslist?

The E81 Floor Board means the truck box had a wooden floor when built. Am I missing something as I can't see the box floor and I don't see a mention that the box floor is steel instead of wood.

Sure glad you got to pick this one up I was going to go look at it, but I found out that there was no title. . . hence I cant drive it home because I don't have the technology yet to make a "driverless commute" ( no truck and trailer). Pretty cool to see it on the forum though Thanks for posting the pictures!!

Good options for a work truck. The metal that is there isn't too rusty... just missing some.

I think he means the floor board is about gone. The box floor is plywood as of now.

Too bad they aren't worth anything. Its little things like that that make me think it may be a lower mile truck as the owner mentioned.

I'd say closer to 90% of the body is still there and 10% that remains has rust. It's a great find for sure. It's a great truck with only one issue...rust! Sucks to see. Reminds of the rusted away classics where they'll claim, "good glass". I laugh and think, "that one's too rusty"

Looked under the hood again today and i think you could lose a basketball under the battery tray! I should look closer, not even sure if the glass is good...

Re: Low mile, original paint 72 K-20

I used to go on the theory that once the bottom of a panel rusted out, that was it. It wouldn't rust any more because it could drain and couldn't hold the crud.. I tested that theory on a '71 K/20 plow truck. Bad theory. My research results proved that and I now have a new theory. Water runs downhill. We all know that, right? Well, when salt is added to water it will run uphill, sideways, any way it wants to, and stay there for dinner! That's my new theory
