Likuid Kreations DBW pedal mount

The Likuid Kreations DBW pedal mount for the early truck DBW pedal is great. Fits in my 69 c10 functionally perfect from 0% to 100% throttle. BUT they pedal ends up maybe 2 inches lower than what looks to be level with the brake pedal and maybe 1 1/2 further right than original. I'll attach a picture on this thread tomorrow. The original floor mount pedal has those two little nubs that hold it to the floor just had to unscrew those because my pedal ended up getting stuck wide open on one. Hope this helps someone doing a DBW LS swap

This thread is worthless without defining what a DBW is

Tim, DBW= drive by wire , its the electric gas pedal instead of the BDC which is drive by cable

Pretty useless without knowing which version and which pedal. I had one from a different company with a COrvette pedal. It looked exactly like all of these. I ended up chucking it and made one of my own.

Re: Likuid Kreations DBW pedal mount

lol, design fail.... i don't see a easy way to screw in the 3rd screw for the firewall.

I whipped up a drawing in cad and printed it, stuck it on 3/4 MDF wood scrap for temporary mockup as the bracket in steel would be the same offset in thickness for a 2016 style accelerator pedal.... yeah, 3 years later that MDF still good to go.

Ill put up a drawing of it and some pictures later on. put the pedal exactly in the same location as factory 87 pedal. Could make them out of steel and sell them but not sure since there's others out there that make em

Re: Likuid Kreations DBW pedal mount

When I did the last build for a local forum member, an 86 c-10 we tried the 96 style c/k turbo diesel pedal.. 100% bolt on and looked amazing, just didn't have the right guts inside... maybe it was good for LS swaps but not for LT.... LT the pedal values were exactly opposite if I remember correctly.

Next pedal I researched was an 08 maybe Impala pedal. Ended up the right values and operated as expected, but pedal angle was not even close for a c-10. Wound up making a firewall adapter out of 3/8 aluminum plate + pedal rod to pedal pad adapter out of sheet metal that goes where the pedal pivot and spring for the pedal just to get the angle of stock c-10 pedal just right.

Removed the tiny Impala pedal and swapped in the factory c-10... looked and more importantly felt right (and matched factory pedal placement)

I never made a rendering of the 2016 silverado pedal bracket.... fiddling with it now and then will post picture later.

I did the same. Bought one similar tot he ones he has pictured and the pedal was 2" higher than factory. He reworked the bracket, but it was still too high. I just used a flat piece of steel and drilled mounting holes. I had to chop the Corvette pedal shorter by 2", but it works great now and looks factory.

Re: Likuid Kreations DBW pedal mount

The Corvette DBW pedal mount I got for my 72 from Hart_rod here on the board seems like it will work well. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=631165 Remember seeing something that bracket will fit early and late model 67-72 later in the thread. The Corvette DBW pedal is identical to the trucks. The Cheyenne super chrome trim even fits on it, factory or reproduction. He also has one for the truck pedals. Listed in the same forum.

That pedal looks nice. The one I have for a Corvette is a lot longer and is from a newer model.

Re: Likuid Kreations DBW pedal mount

If anyone wants to send me a new 19417903 (c6 corvette) pedal to keep (rockauto the cheapest) I'll mock it up to fit like the original 73-87 pedal offset and send that person a bracket and then post the dimensions for anyone to make along with wiring diagram pinouts.

Ill also post the Impala pedal bracket dimensions that I used in the last build which required a sheet metal adapter to get the pedal angle to be the same angle as the 86, as well as the gen5 pedal bracket... but the corvette pedal might be better if the angle is more like stock. the Impala pedal was almost vertical if I remember correctly.

The gen5 truck pedal fits well with the bracket, just doesn't look stock but you get use to it, but if its all you have or thats what came with your engine swap it works and doesnt look bad, just not stock

advice/info on fabing brackets

for anyone wanting to make a bracket or some sort but doesnt know how or where to start...
The way I approach making anything: grab harbor freight dial calipers, measure, measure again, close? .. pretty close? no, re measure,... pretty close? yes then draw them in a cad program, sprayed adhesive spray on the print and material.. usually MDF or acrylic depending on thickness that would be ideal, cut it, drilled it as its super easy to work with. Then check work, did it fit, up down, left right - update sketch, repeat.

While I take pics with the phone I never upload from it. Download pics to computer, open each pic with paint. Can rotate, crop, etc or change nothing. Then save the pic. This seems to align pics correctly no matter how phone was oriented when pic was taken. I always use preview post to check before posting. You can also go back later and remove pics from the post and add pics using the edit feature.

Re: Likuid Kreations DBW pedal mount

It's not obvious how to post pictures.
Unless you are the originator of the posting you will have to hit reply and then go to the advanced button (Next to the quick reply button at the bottom of the dialog box). to find the button to add pictures.

One might guess it's the square box with the mountains in it. That may be a hold over from the old days when people used picture hosting sites. I use the paper clip and pick from the pictures on my PC. Typically downloaded from my phone and then uploaded to my PC from the cloud for posting.

My phone is just too small, for my eyes, to do it directly from it.
Cheers.
