Re: 72 C10 SWB -- Project "KISS"

And today's mess... I mean progress... No more cheapo stereo. Nice that the dash is uncut.

I couldn't get the dang ashtray out, it's jerry-rigged in there... Also couldn't get the lighter out...

Dash pad almost off... I'll be pulling the cluster next along with it

Re: 72 C10 SWB -- Project "KISS"

The cig lighter just unscrews, if i remember right unplug the wire and just start turning the back side while holding the front. There should be some screws holding the ash tray mount brackets in the back side of the dash

Re: 72 C10 SWB -- Project "KISS"

I carefully taped it all off and then scuffed it up for paint.

I refinished the trim because I wanted OEM, but it's pretty time consuming to try and tape it off exactly like the factory

I painted it today, first black self-etching primer then SEM Trim Black. I'm anxious to see how it turns out!!

Thanks!

It's a 68/69 Firebird/Camaro fuel tank. I have nice flip down license plate setup thru the bumper. Just about everything is off now to get it ready for paint
