gas guage
My gas guage in my '74 pickup won't read correct. I have tried other guages but they all do the same thing. The sending unit is okay and works. What could be going wrong?

Sounds like you have grounding problem. Clean off the area where the sending unit drops into the tank. Also check so see if the grounding strap for the gas tank is in place and not broken. They have tendancy to rust out.

I have put a new ground wire on and worked to sending unit by hand and the guage responded but didn't read correctly. It says that when the tank is empty the guage reads 1/4 tank. I tried other guages but they don't solve it.
