Yukon driveline/driveshaft noise

Our 99 Yukon 4X4 has some noise coming from the rear driveline, I would classify it as a "clunk." The dealer looked at it and are aware of this problem and said they see others doing the same thing. They used a high temp grease on what I assume was the spline area and it cured the noise for awhile but it's back after a month and a half or two. They said that it's more of a maintenance thing but every two months is crazy. I'm guessing the noise is coming from the spline area which has the "play" in it. Does anyone know of a permanent fix for this? I've ridden in new,(2001-2002) Tahoes/Yukons and none of them do this and they feel a lot stiffer in the driveline area.

Id try

to get GM to change it. Just keep telling them it isnt right. That joint should slide back and forth but it shouldnt have play in it.
