New guy from South Alabama

What's going on everybody. Just doing the initial greeting stuff here. Just bought an '82 SWB Fleet on 26 Nov. It had a 305/700R4 originally, but it was pulled & a 454 put in. An 18 year old wanted a drag truck I guess. The guy I bought it from swapped out the 454/700R4 for a 283/TH350. Just wanted something to pull his camper. About 500 miles on the motor. Runs good. Minimal rust, usual places. Pushed in/creased a little below the body line, RH side above wheel well. Driver door has rust inside at the bottom. Probably the worst spot along with the LR fender at the bottom. Spent all the money on buying the truck. Just need to get some rust stop for now to put on since it will be a slow build process as most everybody else. Anyway, that's the deal with me. Hope to be talking with alot of ya'll as the process goes. Until next time.... see ya!

Welcome form New Orleans, the land of blue roofs and limited menus. Glad you found us, now if someone could find my patio roof, my patio set, my bird house, and my boat I would be happy. There are some great people here, like a second family to me. I like the Dothan area, been through there a few times. Y'all get any huricanes up there? How about some pics of your truck.

Re: New guy from South Alabama

I like the place already. Got more hellos from here than some other boards related to New Body Style (99-Present Silvys). Seem to be more people working on these trucks, 62-87, in the south than the NBS trucks. I'll get some pics this weekend before it rains. Yeah, we do get some hurricanes that come through here. Located in the lower right corner of the state, bordering GA & FL. Called the Tri-States or Wiregrass area. Really hate you guys down in New Orleans got hit so hard. I'm sure you guys will rebound & make it better than ever though. Got called back to work, so I thought I would respond while I was here. No computer at home, yet. Anyway, talk to ya'll later. Hello to you guys way over on the West Coast also. I spent 6 years in WA state. Army thing. Anyway, later. Almost forgot...... ROLL TIDE!!!!

Welcome to the board, from way far west over here in Enterprise Army? You mean there's Army people in the Wiregrass? Go figure! (Watch out for falling choppers, student pilots have red doors)
