Shipping weights moved up by about 100# by 1972 but there weren't any C or K trucks approaching those weights.

Guess the guy who weighed your truck had his thumb on the scale or you were out by the Unicorn corral where they parked all of those 454 powered trucks with the 700R4 transmissions..

I have a 71 C20 Longhorn and I weighed it the other week and it came in at 4900 lbs. I have a 65 gallon tank that was full and I have a 350/4L80E and a Dana 60 Axle.

My 2003 Duramax CCSB 2WD came in at 7100 lbs with my toolbox and some other gear in it.

Yes. 3580# without me, a 572 big block and a half tank of gas.

I am going to go back to a Highway Scale and weigh her again. I post the results in this thread. I wonder if weighing ( like I did ) the front and rear axles seperately skewered the actual weight.
