I like the progression of the front body mounts. What is getting slapped on top of that is the big question.

Re: Project "Bickle" 1948 1/2 ton 4.3 4l60e

thanks for asking guys, been BUSY as usual.

new property got a $4k labor quote for plank flooring. just the labor. guess who did it instead? I am now a certified professional plank flooring installer. no transition strips either, those strips you put between rooms because its hard to go continuous through doorways. and since it was vinyl and not wood I figured expansion would be nil, so I butted it up against all the tile areas in the house like around the fireplace and at entry doors. that looks super sano.

rented that place to my middle girl, who finished college and got a big promotion the same week. then my oldest who works in az was put on work-from-home till jan 2021, so she moved in to visit, and now she doesnt go back till jan 2022! so she signed up for college too.

been to lots of hidey holes, bought lots of trucks. found a mint 59 1/2 ton shorty international for my brother the international dealer. then before he came to get it found him a 41 international metro milk truck, with teardrop headlights and a roll up back door!talk about a rare truck. he picked both of those up. I have 6 truck disassembled at my storage now, two more on the way.

in november I started another AD, a 5 window 48, windsor blue, very pretty. found a donor 4.3 s10 and its almost done, just bed and running boards and interior.

got a 97 grand marquis from a customer of my wife whos dad cant drive any more, sport package and only 92k, garage kept! shame to tear it apart but I will, trying to get a 48-49 ford f1 to plop on it, but I have my 56 big window shop truck too and it might fit right on top. 4.6 auto, I am considering it seriously!

I will share some pics soon. teh 48 looks amazing, patina blue 5 window with a blood red interior, 20" polished salt flats. no moss here!

Re: Project "Bickle" 1948 1/2 ton 4.3 4l60e

well its been another year.

we picked up the neighbors property to the one we got last year. really bad shape, like so bad we pulled the linoleum in the bathroom and the subfloor disintegrated, just joists and crawl space! so that slowed me down but we got it sorted and rented oct1, which has let me work on trucks again.

here is the latest, 48 (yes i am aware of the identity crisis, suffice to say it is a 48) with all the usual tricks. 4.3 4l60e, new carpet and seat and gauges. I really like how the blue turned out

I have other stuff going on that I will update later, like a rolled 2002 tundra 4x4 that will be getting my last 47-53 cab and the 54 longbed I picked up, and the 48 ford f1 I will be doing a chassis swap on.

Re: Project "Bickle" 1948 1/2 ton 4.3 4l60e

i havent started it yet, i am going to do a quickie 41 for a friend, i may walk through that though.

i put bob (its the name on the door, bob peters construction) in the yard for chrsitmas card fam pictures tomorrow. a guy is coming tuesday to look at it. lots of knick knacks left. even hardcore patina haters like this truck, but they still say it out the side of their mouth like they're ashamed of it haha.

Re: Project "Bickle" 1948 1/2 ton 4.3 4l60e

not a patina fan, personally, but it looks great. like it was built that way.
would be interested to see how you do that F,F,F,Ford. I know there is an online hotrod write up on doing something like that.
the bad thing about the F,F,F,Ford deal is all that money you gotta spend on paper bags, and how noisy they are while you wear them over your head so nobody knows it's you driving. haha

Re: Project "Bickle" 1948 1/2 ton 4.3 4l60e

even you will like this one!

i got a GREAT 48 f6 cab down in kiowa and picked up an f1 front clip and a bed, the guy who i usually have upholster my seats listed a great set of buckets on fb, I got a 92k mile grand marquis for the 4.6/auto, and a buddy sold me a ste of torque thrusts attached to a good 98 s10 frame. I figure I will need some glass and seals, but I have almost everything else!

Nice. No squirrely holes around here, well picked over.
Now those are red seats, should look good.
Hope you're not claustrophobic with having to wear those bags over your head. Haha
