Exclamation Wanted: NP-440/MY6 4 speed Overdrive transmission

G'day all ...

As the title suggests, I'm trying to find a New Process 440 4 speed overdrive transmission. Also referred to as the NP440, the MY6, or the GM version of the A833 transmission.

I'd like the original GM 10 spline version, with the GM compatible bellhousing from a 2wd vehicle (I believe 4wd's are different?).

I don't need the main shifter mechanism, as this will be for a column shift vehicle. Converting 3OTT to 4OTT

I realise these aren't everywhere, but I thought I'd try my luck.

I am located in Australia, so I have no way of popping down to the local dismantler to find one.

I do have a shipper for all my parts located in Washington (Vancouver, WA 98660 to be exact).

If you know where to find one and can get it, I'm willing to pay for the service.

I can organise to have it collected from you, all you need to do is be willing to work with a company to organise pickup dates, times etc.

I will absolutely cover all costs and inconveniences.

If you can help, please send me PM.

Thanks for your time.

Regards,
Russ

do a search on here , there was one for sale with in the last 2 weeks for 250 on the board , can't remember where it was posted. I asked if it was the chevy bolt pattern, I have several and they are nice. Mine are being used so not for sale.

Russ, while I don't have a tran, your 4OTT conversion intrigues me. I know there wee several European cars set up that way and would love to see a build on it.

This was my inspiration: http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=539222

Post number 11 in that thread. Talks about it more a little later on.

Interesting. What would be the neatest would be to come up with a setup that would put reverse on the column!!

I have one from a 4wd but you would need to find an output shaft and ext. housing.

Re: Wanted: NP-440/MY6 4 speed Overdrive transmission

Thanks for the offer mate, but I need a complete 2wd set-up.

Problem for me is I can't take a roadtrip to a salvage yard and search for what I want. If I don't find one complete, it may take forever to find single off parts.

Re: Wanted: NP-440/MY6 4 speed Overdrive transmission

I have 2 but the shifter etc are packed in one of my many storage containers. I have the 2 trans on my work bench. To be honest I have no idea of which unit the rest might be, but they are the standard mount bellhousing.

I paid way too much for them during the last high mark in parts 2008-09. I have $475.00 in each of them and have an extra shifter I bought from Loc doc.

Thanks,
steve

G'day Steve.

I'm definitely interested mate. I'm about to head off to work though, so I'll send you a PM when I return home.

Cheers.
