1985 Chevy S-10 355 Cam?

I have a 1985 chevy S-10 with a bored .30 over 350 vortec heads and a cam, with a 700 r4 behind it, with the original S-10 rearend. I didn't build the motor i had someone do it for me. I told him the motor was going into a truck so I think the cam he put in it is for pulling. It is really numb on low end it doesnt have the power it should have. When i hit the gas it will burn the tires for prolly 25-50 ft with no brake but its not what it should be. But when I hit the throttle at 50-60 hold on this thing will throw you right back in your seat and then some and still want to go sideways. What would be a good cam for more low end power?

if its a cam for towing you should see the opposite you should see more low end power and less high end power.

Comp XE268. with a dual plane and a 675ish vacuum secondary carb it will give you good low end. might help to find out what gears you have too because that 700r4 has a good first. your rear might be high.

Re: 1985 Chevy S-10 355 Cam?

maybe youre looking at the wrong end oif the truck...you say it has no bottom end but all top. what kind of gears do you have in the rear end of the truck? stock gears arn't gonna help you off the line. you'd need a set of 3.55 or 3.73s.
