O ring for oil pump pick up tube.

I got a new one for my 02 Silverado I noticed they are different colors.I really can't compare it to the old one because it looks like it has squished over the years. Is there much of a difference between years?IMG_20220731_151701607.jpg

Re: O ring for oil pump pick up tube.

There are two different O rings, different thicknesses depending on the style of pick up tube in place....

See this link for details....courtesy of LSX Mag...

Hope this helps

Thanks for the response.Im not for sure why the Chevrolet dealership sold me an orange o ring. They said that was the only one listed for my truck.Looks like will be returning it and try to locate the proper oring I really don't want to do this job twice.

Re: O ring for oil pump pick up tube.

Look at the end of your pickup tube...if it looks like the pic in the linked article the correct O ring is GM 12557752

if your pickup tube has a depression to accept the O ring the part number is the one the dealership sold you...it fits what they term the second design tube....

The later tube O ring is thicker in section....
