Frame mount brake booster?

Apparently in a previous life the stock brake booster bracket was cut off my frame( 55.2frame)Do any of you wonderful fellas have pictures or dimensions of where I should mount the booster. I can fab a new bracket, or just weld on the one that came with the kit . Anything helps I’ve looked everywhere.

Re: Frame mount brake booster?

AD's and TF's are not the same frame, if that's what you're asking.

Re: Frame mount brake booster?

dsraven- that manual is by far the most informative thing Ive ever seem regarding building a truck. Thanks

but it doesn't help me with dimensions of where the bracket sits. i need to know how high on the frame rail the mounting bolts are and how far behind the body mount bracket.

i know tons of you guy have these on your trucks, anyone got pictures?

Re: Frame mount brake booster?

check sheet 18 section 2 for how the bracket attaches alongside the forward cab mount and is rivetted there with the cab mount I think, cant remember exactly. sheet 24 section 2 has a few dimensions. the pivot for the pedal is off the front of the master cyl if memory serves.
here is a pic of one of my old frames. unfortunately the bracket is gone but gives an example of the frame bolt holes in the area., I suppose it is like yours anyway though.
maybe somebody here has a pic relative to a stock pedal set up? or pm orrieG maybe, I think he has a stock brake set up?

Re: Frame mount brake booster?

there is a bracket on the frame that the original master bolted to. does your new system bolt to that or does the instruction say to remove that stock bracket I'm wondering?

Re: Frame mount brake booster?

the new booster bracket is meant to mount to the original brake bracket. Im going to have to fab up the bracket its self, just need location info.
i will check the pages you said above

Re: Frame mount brake booster?

Maybe I missed it but you may want to say if your truck is a 1/2 or 3/4 ton to get the right bracket. Good luck . Looks like 58 Cameo Has you fixed up .

Re: Frame mount brake booster?

While you’re at it … make a drop out crossmember to tie the chassis together like the stock crossmember did . It is to keep the chassis from twisting from the weight on the front cab mounts . It goes a long way to keep panel alignment .
BTW the GMC version is a drop out type . Find one of those and save a bunch of time .

I still have to cut and modify this one so the 4L60E can be serviced .

Re: Frame mount brake booster?

This is the first gen (2010) NoLimit wide ride IFS with air bag option, p/s . As I recall the sway bar was standard .
The cross bar in the front is from a friends IFS he didn’t use .

I also used the NoLimit Fat bar rear set up with a Currie 9” .

I took the chassis down to NoLimit when they were in San Bernardino ,CA and Rob installed it . It cost about $ 10k . When I left it was a roller on the wheels and tires and primer & paint I brought with me in the Avalanche in the background .

i consider this very important. my truck was cut out and had a sbc scabbed in, as wrong as possible. either make the drop out or fab something else to support the cab or the cab will sit on the frame, not the cab mounts.
this is my version of a support system, very similar to what the custom frame builders do

Re: Frame mount brake booster?

it has an additional cross member welded in already. you can kinda see it in the second picture, its a horseshoe shaped bar that clears drive train . i'll see if i can get better picture. Also trans support still to go in as well.
