Removing the 350 from the truck and the heads are off from previous post
[READ MY BEARINGS ] Any way it dawned on me I don,t have the heads and intake on to use my brackets for attaching the chain. Just wondering if its OK to use the holes in the block where the heads were attached or could I do damage somehow to the threads or worse being the angle of chain lifting on a angle ? The crank and pistons are still in so is still heavy, no tranny just the engine. Probably over thinking this so as I have someone else to blame and not me LOL.

Use the head bolt threads and you'll be fine. If you can, use the two front corners and the two rear corners to even it out when you lift it up.

Grab yourself 4 of 7/16 short bolts, maybe 1 1/2" long and four 7/16 washers....keep the lifting chains closer to the block....

have seen head bolts bend and sometimes crack the block when used to lift...

due to the length of the bolts adding leverage ...

Won,t use my head bolts ,need em. I kinda thought to keep the chain and bolts as close as I can. thinking of drilling some angle iron so it bolts flush and then chain.

Get new head bolts, use the old ones to lift out the engine

I thought that would be better in case the chain might gouge the block with it being on a angle like that. Yay thought of a good idea.
