Vacuum Reservoirs - much go wrong with these, test methods?

Just polished this one up. 3M plastic cleaner and "lens" protector worked rather well, though I see by this image, I missed the arms some, especially the edges. Still not bad for being on the truck 45 years.

For 20 plus years, the ports were left open and unprotected. Not much exposure to elements. Does much go wrong with these units?

Also, any recommendations how to test these and other vacuum type valves?

Thank you for any response.

Pump them up with a vacuum pump and see if it holds if it does then it is good if not it is bad.

If not too late - IMO the metal version of the vacuum pump (assuming you got the MityVac) is all the way better...

I learned the hard way and bought the plastic one first... then a few months later the metal one.

Lots of uses for this tool and its fittings so you won't regret it.. (for example testing your distributor vac advance to see when it starts moving and how far and at what Hg (or is it Mg).. Inches of Mercury..

Not too late at all, thank you. I didn't order yet technically, it was sitting in me Amazon Cart. I couldn't tell if it was metal, but this one is:
