Horn stuck on
I have a 1970 with a factory column and square body wheel. I pulled the horn cap and the spring and contact but the horn stays on. Anyone have any ideas to look for when I pull the wheel? Only option seems to be a short in the wire in the column. Turn signals work fine BTW. Its a non-tilt column.

There's a relay between the horn button and the horn. Pull the relay and hook up a test light - your neighbors will thank me.

Ok - So I got the truck with the horn unplugged and the battery dying.
I unplugged the relay and now the battery doesn't die anymore, but I want to fix the horn. The relay clicks when its plugged in and unplugged. I removed the horn button and the contacts from the wheel. That didn't work, still stuck on. That's the background.

You either have a stuck relay or a short to ground inside the column. Unplug the turn signal harness then plug the relay in again

Trace the wire that activates the relay to where it's getting grounded. Sounds like it might be flopping around under the wheel, or things aren't put together right in the column to make the horn work. It can be a puzzle.

Fixed!
Got it fixed.
The retainer on the replacement turn signal switch that holds the spring in for the horn contact, it would touch the column bearing housing and stay grounded when you pressed the horn. Filed it down and it is all good.
