Picture Request

Hello All-
I am looking for ride height / "aired up" pics of a truck with mild front and rear porterbuilt dropmember.
Also pics of them aired out as well. Trying to decide what package to go with.
Thank you very much in advance.

Re: Picture Request

Unfortunately I don't have many pics of the mild in the up position. However, we have a truck in the shop that has the Mild front and Rear. It's going to be next week until we can get some decent pics of it. I will be happy to post them for you then.

Re: Picture Request

This is a pic of the truck resting 1" below it's intended ride height.

It can be driven at this height once we install the new inner wheel tubs. If you are running factory inner wheel tubs the tires will rest on them 1" below this height.

I will get some better pics for you next week.

Re: Picture Request

Thank you. I have been talking with Dave on this set up. Just want to be sure I have purchased the correct suspension. Living in the Northeast I am not sure the extreme would be the best for our roads. I have factory well tubs at this point with 20" wheels up front and 22" wheels in the back.

What are your plans for the factory inner wheel wells front and rear? Keep or modify?

Re: Picture Request

I think I am going to modify. I want to drive the truck not just to shows or weekends. I am not handy with metal so I am going to have grant kustoms make the c notch cover and tubs. I had read you were working on a mild that would be 1"off the ground? Dave mentioned that would be ready in about a month but he thought it would be weld in only. I am looking for bolt in.

We are working on a front kit that is a cross between an extreme and a mild... bolts in, no rack notch, lets the motor set lower, and leaves the frame 1" off the ground up front with a CPP drop spindle and a 28" tall tire.

We are also going to make a rear kit that matches. 1" off the ground when deflated with a 30" tall tire. It will be able to utilize the extreme bolt in rear notch, just incorporate a different variation of the bridge assembly.

Million dollar question: How low do you want to go?

Re: Picture Request

Yeah the magic question!! I would like the fenders to meet the top part of the wheel at ride height and the rears to just be tucking under the fender.
Like attached photo. Not sure of his wheel size. I like the fact the truck has a flat look.

That pic is of a truck running our extreme kits and it's probably only an inch or so away from being aired up all the way.

The mild would ride about an inch taller that that. The other variation we are working on is going to land you right where you want to be.

Great. When will that be ready? And it is bolt in? I should also get the extreme front not mild?

What does this mean in regards to related mods? Will it still require the high transmission hump or work with standard height? What about A/C clearance? The back of the cab?

About 2-3 weeks right Nate? Got any pics of how it works?

We will know more details once we get everything installed and tweaked to where I want it.

We use a Touring main x-member assembly up front (that puts the bottom of the dropmember equal to the bottom of the frame. This also allows the engine to remain at it's original height... and also no rack notches). It uses a unique upper hat that places the bag mount at a specific height to keep the truck one inch off the ground when the bag us fully compressed (with a CPP spindle and 28" tall tire).

The rear is basically our extreme kit with a revised bridge assembly and taller bump stop.

I have been playing with it for a little while just haven't had the time to wrap it all up yet. Its intent is to be for the guys that want that ultra low ride height but don't care about laying frame.

It will require the same inner wheel well mods and bed floor mods as the extreme kit. Large hump trans tunnel is still recommended.... and drive-shaft angles are much easier to deal with and set-up.

Little more hassle free.

More to come. It's close.

I would like to be the first customer to purchase!!! Sounds like it will be the perfect fit for me. Being new to this will it sit lower than a mild front & rear? Right height and aired out?

Yes.... this variation will sit lower than a mild, but not as low as an extreme.

For example:

When measuring from the bottom of the frame rail under the cab of the truck (where it is at it's lowest point), the Mild kit aired completely out with CPP spindle and 28" tall tire sets the frame right at 3" off the ground. And gives a ride height of 6-7".

This new variation will set the frame rail 1" off the ground when deflated and will have between a 5-6" ride height.

This kit sounds perfect for our pot holed roads.

Now I just have to find the right truck to put it on!

What is the projected cost for the kit?

Also, what year models does it work with?

The cost will be the same as our other Dropmember variations, but for an exact number you can shoot us an email and we can respond with a quote.

We will first have it done for the 63-72 trucks and move on from there.

Re: Picture Request

Nate-

How does alignments work with your set ups? Example being the extreme set up that is engineered to drive low. How do you know the correct ride height (best ride and travel) at which you get your alignment done? Your geometry changes at different heights.

I hope my question is clear.

Thanks
Marc

Marc-

Perfectly clear.

Let's use the Extreme kit as an example:

It is designed to be driven right at 5" off the ground (we use the bottom of the frame under the cab to ground for this measurement). Of course with it being adjustable you can drive it at any height throughout its travel.

We recommend that it be aligned at the height the end user intends to drive it at most (weather that be 3" off the ground or 5" off the ground). This will give the best wear on the tires. The geometry and design of the kit will still yield a great ride throughout its range of travel.

Thanks Nate.

Not really different then my current set up. The only difference is my ride height with PB goodies will be much lower. My air management set up will make sure that I'm always at my aligned (preferred) ride height for best tire wear.

Thanks
Marc
