Column looks good man. Only concern I have about the gauges is that that seems to be running a little high on the rpm's for where you are in this stage of the process. I think they look good in there. Not what I would run, but it's not my truck. If we all did the same thing then this hobby wouldn't be nearly as fun!

She is running a little high. I'm not even 100% sure I will like them after I get them done either, but it will at least give me cheap working gauges for the time being. I'm sure sometime down the road I will change them out, but who knows maybe they will grow on me. I'm just trying to get this thing back on the road, because if i don't get to drive it soon, I'm going to pull my hair out!

Thanks man, I haven't gotten anything done lately. My brother got me a little distracted, he bought a new toy and got me really distracted. This isn't actually a pic of his, but it is the same thing.



We went to the range today, this thing is freaking awesome! I know I don't need one of them, but I really want one now. Hopefully I will get some work done soon.

Thanks man, I don't have any progress to show. It has just been to darn cold for me to get motivated to go out to the shop lately. Which doesn't make much sense because we went to our annual fishing trip last weekend and it was freezing with almost a foot of snow on the ground. I'm hoping the weather will turn around so I can start making some more progress.

I here U man, it's starting to get nice out here in N.C.I've been colleting parts during the winter, cross member for my 700r4,that i bought at the end summer,still need a set of headers for my 350, that been bore .60 over with set of 041 heads 64cc.A set of fenders when i start doing body work,& still looking for a good driver door.Keep up the build & pictures coming

Well it's been a while since I've updated this. Really hasn't been any big advances or picture worthy updates, but I still wanted to post an update just to keep track of my progress, and ask some questions. I finally got around to buying some parts I will need to get this thing back on the road. I have my new trac bar kit ordered, and will be getting my driveshaft shortened soon. I'm kind of concerned with the strength of the original shaft since I'm using the newer engine now. Do you think I would be better off trying to find a larger diameter shaft and get it modified to fit?
I did get my gauges hooked up, they all work except for the oil pressure. I've got a question about it posted in the LS swap section, but haven't found an answer for the problem yet. I got all my brake lines ran (they don't look that great) but I think they will work. Got my radiator installed and trans cooler lines ran. I am to the point now that I can set the cab back on and see if it all fits, but I want to try to get the oil pressure gauge working first. Sorry for the rant, and lack of pics.

Sounds like you're coming right along with it. I don't think you will have any problems with the driveshaft. PM Scotts62. He and the guy that he used to work with work with driveshafts daily. They should be able to answer your questions.

Thanks man, I did talk to Scott once, but had to wait a while to actually get it done. I'm going to have him do it, but the other day I looked at it setting there and it just seemed a little puny. I guess it's more about wall thickness than diameter on that stuff. I'll send him a PM right now.

Well like I said, my brakelines aren't anything to write home about but I have to post some pics. I think I might redo the rears, I have enought line do it, we will see. I talked to Scott and am going to get the driveshaft squared away soon. Dang my frame is dirty!

Today I picked up new brake shoes, and wheel cylinders I just have to get out there and start working. I haven't worked on drum brakes for a LONG time, hopefully it's like riding a bike. The brown truck showed up a few minutes ago with my shock relocators, drop blocks and trac bar too. Figured I'd post some pics.

Thanks guys! Coops, I will definately let you know if I need a hand. Same to you though, if I can lend a hand let me know. I actually got some work done in the last couple of days. I had all of my gauges working except my oil pressure and fuel level, fuel is the easy one. But I ended up getting a Camaro oil pressure sender and it made the gauge work. I also got my trac bar, shock relocators, and drop blocks installed. I like the drop blocks because they will let me have a little more air in by bags down low, I don't really like that the ubolts are now under the scrub line. Guess that will make me get some 20's a little sooner! I also started rebuilding my rear brakes, haven't messed with drum brakes in a long time, what a pain! Anyway, here are some pics, and a little video of the gauges.

Thanks man, I finished up the passenger side last night. Then I looked at the pic of the drivers again and realized I missed getting the lower spring back in. Looks like I'm going to be pulling that back off tonight. I hate having to do things twice. I think I am going to get the cab back on this weekend, maybe even the bed, we will see. Still alot to do after they go back on, but at least it will be closer to one piece again.

Today was a good day, got the cab back on! Everything went really well, I was worried that my h-pipe might hit, but it was all good. I also got my old AC stuff pulled out, found a little mascot for the build, he was a little flat though. I also found out that the steering column shafts from the 71 and the 94 column I am using are the same size, so they will slide right together. Got alot of little stuff to finish up, but I should be driving this thing again fairly soon. Thanks for looking.
