Looks great! You've gotta be feeling pretty good about how it is looking.

I am and can't wait to get it on the road. I figure that I am 85% done, the last 10% will take about a month, and the final 5% will be the rest of my life.

Re: Project Build Log: Ol Green

I've got a little more done this weekend. Did as much as I could on Thrusday night and Friday morning. I was out of town for the rest of the weekend. I miss ordered and didn't get all of the rear right taillight and some bumpers ordered. I also found that one of the rollers off the window lift (the sissor part) has a busted roller. Do I need to purchase the entire assemble or is there some way to replace that roller? Other that that it is coming along. I am expecting a shipment from summit tomorrow and I will be able to finish most of the engine compartment. I hope to be able to at least turn over the engine this weekend.

Your K5 is lookin' great! I flipped through LMC, didn't see just a roller. I'm bettin' you have to buy the whole assembly.

Re: Project Build Log: Ol Green

Looking great. I sure seem to remember a rebuild kit or something available that would give you parts to replace a roller. I'd call a board vendor and ask them. Might be such a small part that it's not on their websites and in a catalog.

Re: Project Build Log: Ol Green

You might check the parts stores for that roller. Sometimes they have those little do-dads on a rack, like door handles, throttle springs, door panel screws, etc. Those rollers are probably the same for most GM cars with manual roll up windows.

You are flying along on this build. I felt good about getting mine running in less than a year, and then here you are, making the rest of us look bad...

I searched for awhile, then gave up and just bought the whole mechanism, seems like a waste as usually just the rollers go bad. Keep us posted...

Re: Project Build Log: Ol Green

Well got a little more done today. I ran to the junk yard during my lunch and picked up some side markers from a 70-80's van. I really like the much smoother look of those lenses, it is something i've wanted to do for a while. I also got started on wiring up the electric fans and finishing the final terminations. I will admit I had a freind of mine come over and help me on the install of the window and running the lower radiator hose.

Those are the markers I have on my Jimmy. I like them as well. The blazer looks great. My guess is you didn't make July 2nd though.

Here is the enterior with by side panels installed. I have pulled out the subfloor for my rear seats. I origally built it so i could store the poles and cover from a soft top underneath. I am going to clean it up and have it painted.

Re: Project Build Log: Ol Green

Lookin' good. How was the fit of the new outer grill? Did you have to massage it or did it fit nice on the first go? OEM or aftermarket? Well thats enough questions, lol... Great work.

The fit wasn't to bad. It was hard pop riveting it to the supports. I had to loosen up the entire front clip and use a spud wrench to aling the grill supports with the front fenders. It is an aftermarket.

Re: Project Build Log: Ol Green

Well good news, I got it to turn over last night. I have fuel, and spark, just need to get it aligned and timed. After that I have to bleed the brakes, fix the shifter on the the column, I think I might have painted a little to much and now its really gummy. Then I just need to set up the 700R4 and its on the road. AWE-YEAH

Looks awesome. The interior is fantastic. I really want to see more pics of the rear seat frame you made. I think i'm gonna do something similar. Later, Mario.

Thanks for the compliments. I don't know how far I will get on the frame before driving season ends. I still don't know how or what type of material I will use to create the floor and the storage area door. I do have some second row seat backs from a 78 suburban that I might use but still need to do some figgering and measuring.
