Back in the game - 72 CST Build

I'm sure my story is not much different than most. Had a shop, had a 69 and 72 Blazer had an LT1 powered Wrangler, had a cherry 87 short wide 4x4, wheeled just about every weekend, hit the lake in between .....then got married and they slowly started to disappear. Glad to say I am back in the game.

Started building this 72 in college.

Twin sticked the 205, threw in a 4.10 14 bolt and 60, and was on my way to fixing it up when I decided to sell it. I have regretted it ever since.......

Re: Back in the game - 72 CST Build

So after looking off and on for a few years, I found this 72 jewel.

Re: Back in the game - 72 CST Build

72 CST with a new TBI 350, rebuilt Th350 and 205.

Just started to tear into it. I am trying to resist the urge to frame off as I want to drive a beater for awhile and build it over time. Primary goal is the cancer. Just the typical stuff....not all that bad.

Very nice start....DONT take it apart!, drive a beater for awhile, wish i did

Welcome aboard! If it turns out like your other '72, this would be a diamond in the rough

Too late! Although I am not too far into it..... Just trying to fix the rust, then going to put it all back together. Goal is to have it all back together by spring.

Re: Back in the game - 72 CST Build

In post #3 I see you fabbed a bolt in spreader bar but in the last post it is gone & appears to have angle iron on top of the bed. Was just curious if the bolt in bar did not work out? When I saw it I thought it was a pretty cool idea but don't want to go thru the trouble if it did not work out.

Thanks
Richard

Most women like the strong, silent type… Fortunately for me, my wife prefers the out-of-shape, mouthy type.

Me too! Looks like your doing a great job, glad to see youre just tacking the welds to see how your doors fit

That bottom 'B' post is rather complex, probably the hardest part youll run into...

Those sheetmetal clamps look slick, been meaning to buy some....good luck and keep the pics coming
