Temp sensor
My 1968 GMC has one green wire for the engine water temp, however the sensor I have in there has two prongs. I'm not looking for stock, just something that works and is free or cheap. Can I hook it up with one wire somehow?

Re: Temp sensor
Probably not.. However, the correct sending unit is available.. Most competent parts suppliers - O'reillys, NAPA, and most "independents either have it or can get it..
[EDIT] There are two senders - one is for a gauge, the other for a light. They will not interchange. Here's a link for the unit for a gauge.. https://www.classicindustries.com/pr...ts/748691.html Last edited by RustyPile; 06-29-2022 at 11:09 PM. |

Re: Temp sensor
The earlier trucks 63 64 65 used a 2 terminal sender because they had 2 bulbs in the dash , one was for temperature cold and the other was for temperature hot. In this diagram on the right side near the middle is the wiring connections for the sender. It might be the sender for one of those years that someone just put in. Attachment 2202104
