Vanity Plates

Hey guys, what vanity plates are you using? I’m getting mine ready to run for the next few months before I tear it down and restore it. Figured I’d go ahead and get the plates done now. Thanks!

Re: Vanity Plates

Well I just so happened to receive my plate the other day for my newest toy. I think it did just the trick! Let me see if I can upload a pic.

Re: Vanity Plates

Ended up ordering “BURB 66”. “66 BURB” was taken, as was”MOBY”. The PO’s name for it was actually MOBY, so was trying to honor her. But honestly, would probably end up getting called the big something or other if I had that, so better to leave that one alone. Lol

Gotten a few kinks worked out and started driving it on the road. Did about a 5 mile cruise, without issues. So, getting better. Not having been driven for 16 years, just need to kind of go through everything, and fix the little bits.

Another question, how come there is so little posting here about our burbs? It does not seem to be nearly as active as say, the blazer site.

And one last question...I’m hoping to do a 5.9 12 valve p-pump swap. Are there any go to places for cross members, or custom fab? Thanks guys!

Here it is with new shoes.

Re: Vanity Plates

When I was 15 years old, a friend & I decided what our license plates were going to be when we got our first cars. This was my idea and I went through with it even though my friend never did. His 4DAKRZN didn't really fit his V8 Pinto anyway. Thirty years later, I'm still using the same plates.

I am often surprised on how many people don't get it. I may change these because yellow plates with black letters are the correct plates for the year of my truck. Only 6 digits are allowed on yellow so I'd have to come up with something new. When I applied for black plates, this state of confusion (California) stated you are not allowed to use numbers for words. I don't know what that's about; perhaps the state doesn't want our drivers even more confused trying to figure out custom plates.

My license frame is “I brake for beer drinkers” and my plate reflects my feelings for fire chiefs and most management in general
