Re: 1971 C10 Project

im actually thinking about those for my next project, we have 2 66' Cadillac Coupedevilles we bought for 4500 bucks, both very nice shape, i get one and my dad gets one, i think those would be quite fitting for it :P

Im thinking black vette/camaro rallies with camaro caps & trimrings for the C10

Slight clearence issue on the cabfloor touching the tranny...
We will have to make a custom transmission crossmember for it.

Re: 1971 C10 Project

Finally Getting Back to this project after a few years absent... This time it has a whole new meaning to me...

My Dad passed away in May 2014 from cancer, we spend hours together tearing down and rebuilding the frame, re wiring and custom making a stand alone TBI 350 Harness... had alot of moments and alot of lessons learned during this build, and alot of others i have done in the past few years with him. But this one got back burnered because he helped me with all of my other projects.

This build is now for him, hes no longer with us but this is still his truck.

couple winters ago, the wiring harness we finished and here is the TBI 350 running in frame, it since has been pulled for cleaning

Re: 1971 C10 Project

Here is where the project sits now.

The cab that we put together, after pulling the windshield and a little poking around, I decided it was just too crusty to dink around with when im looking for something thats going to last years down the road.

So... Pull the vin and hunt down a cab

New Cab from arizona all origional sheet metal un touched a few little dents and ripples but hey it was a truck.

does it get much better than that? good price too

Re: 1971 C10 Project

seems to me they just stopped working on it
not realy good as the colder months are usually the busiest months in the bodyshop (more accidens because of slick roads )
how are you paying these guys , lump sum in advance , bits per month or lump sum iafer its finisched
ifyou payed in advance you might want to sit on their necks once in a while to get then to do some work on it

Re: 1971 C10 Project

It's a friend of mine doing the work in his body shop, he's not really making much money off me if any at all, so it's not a major priority, especially since I found out this year I cannot insure the truck untill I am 26 so in another 2 years. So no hurry and no problems
