Light Grey Armrests

Does anyone know where I can find light grey armrests for 1969 GMC?
I tried using light grey SEM on my dark grey armrests but the paint just keeps cracking. I guess because they get a lot of use from closing the doors.

These aren't correct but the early 50's arm rests are what I put in my Burban. They come is several colors. I used the grey and black ones. And they bolt on with no modification.

I bought them local from Dan's Classic Chevrolet. Here is a link to Classic Industries' website.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Light Grey Armrests

One of my favourite discoveries was that 1991-1998 Geo Tracker armrests are a perfect fit on our trucks. I mean like a glove. And they are reminisent of the the 67 handle so they don't look out of place.

Basically free at a junkyard, give them a try. I wouldn't suggest it to most purists except that you did want it in grey and they are pretty much all grey.

I put them on my 70 because I had nothing else handy and I was scrapping my Tracker and thought why not.

I will post a pic of it installed tomorrow if I remember/anyone is interested.

Thanks for the link. I like the look of the older ones. I may buy a pair.

My interior is a lighter grey. I bought the darker grey ones you have originally. Then decided to coat them in the lighter SEM color.

Re: Light Grey Armrests

That is a nice truck Lux. I am doing mine in a similar color combo. I want to use the door panels from a '72 and was wanting to dye them light gray but now I may not if the dye flakes off of the arm rests. Got more pictures?

If you look at 503 green long enough you realize its got a little grey to it. The inside of my cab is sprayed satin so its not shinny on my eyes while driving. So I figured even though it's not an original color I'd use a light grey. The door panels are covered in a vinyl material I found at Hobby lobby. Most everything else is sprayed with SEM. The SEM works good on everything but the armrests. Because I use them to close the door, the SEM keeps cracking. Maybe I didn't prep them right for the SEM paint,,but I'm pretty sure I did. I think that SEM paint just can't take a lot of abuse. The color combo is a little different but I like it.
