Simple carpet question

I just received my ACC carpet, it looks great (80/20 loop w/mass backing)

I was a bit surprised to see it hemmed around all sides, more specifically being hemmed where it will go under the sill plates. Truck came with a rubber mat, so I don't have original carpet to compare.
I'm hoping hemming is left intact when under sill plate, but wondering if it might need to be cut...?
I know I can figure it out when ready to install, but figured I'd ask now.

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: Simple carpet question

Yep, got my new carpet this past week, opened it up yesterday and hemmed all sides. No big deal if it needs to be removed under the sill plates. But, I’m a long way off.

Re: Simple carpet question

Go ahead and install it ,it was easier to sew the edge on where not used then to skip.Go ahead and put the sill plate on not going to matter at all

Re: Simple carpet question

I left the hemming alone on mine, and put the sill plate on it. It was fine.

Re: Simple carpet question

I removed the hemming under the sills using the original carpet from my bucket seat truck as a pattern. Here are a couple a pictures of the original.

Re: Simple carpet question

I also got the ACC carpet for my 69 C20, lots of holes for gas pedal, seats, high beam switch but it fits nice. I used the hot socket technique to make the holes and it worked great. I am putting the seat back in today and installing the sill plates so I will see how the sill plates fit and if the carpet needs trimming.
