parking brake cable help

Shortened long to short bed, 74. Ordered a short bed rear cable, and it's now way too short. Is the front cable for a short bed LONGER than the long bed front cable? I need to determine where I need to trouble shoot here/what I need to order. I really don't relish changing out the front cable, but if that's what I need to do, that's what I need to do.

Thanks.

Re: parking brake cable help

If you have long bed frame and you did not cut the frame in front of the rear wheels then the rear cables for stock long bed will still work. So if the modes
at the frame are behind rear wheels and you did not move the diff forward you should be able to use the long bed factory cables front and rear.

14" cut in front of the wheels, which is pretty standard in shortening a long bed.

Re: parking brake cable help

So I'm guessing that your Spid sticker say something cose to 131wb wheel base, Long wheel base. Your new wheel base should be a short one now center wheel hub to center wheel hub. Ask your parts guy to look up old parts book not pc/google listing parts, what is the closes to that wheel base & year for parking brakes. Or if you have some old brake part book look up. One that come to mind that I know down in the USA is Raybestos brake parts book.
