Re: antenna delete / internal antenna

Did you ever find a good hidden antenna? I want to do the same thing but would like to avoid the "poke and hope" method if possible.

Re: antenna delete / internal antenna

Those hidden antennae's are pretty much a waste of money, there is a reason they were put out in the open on the cowl.
I do have the antennae delete on Otis, but I have no radio or cd player also....a well tuned V8 with twice pipes and glass paks are my music.

Re: antenna delete / internal antenna

I have the original AM radio, non operating but antenna delete cowl. I hate unnecessary stuff hanging off my truck.

I use one stuck it up by my rearview mirror and ran the wire in the window rubber.Works great and I live in the middle of nowhere closest radio station is 50 miles away FM.I got it off ebay 8 years ago for like $20 cannot remeber the brand though.I think it would work if you just stuck it under the dash

Re: antenna delete / internal antenna

I got one from Napa in 2003 for a Harley I had and mounted it inside the faring. It was a powered one that was 12 V. It worked so good the other guys i road with wanted to delete the stock antenna and add one like mine. Without the power to it it was terrible. The guy at napa said it was popular to replace the windshield antennas.

Re: antenna delete / internal antenna

Re: antenna delete / internal antenna

I have a stubby antenna from amazon hidden behind the radio under the dash. I live in the big city but it picks up every station my other vehicles do.

Re: antenna delete / internal antenna

I did a little searching for hidden antenna and found a forum where several 'members' commented that they mounted a regular antenna along the frame rail with rubber mounts to keep it from grounding and it worked great.

Anyone ever try this?

Re: antenna delete / internal antenna

Lutronjim If you were asking me if i knew more you have to deal with my old memory.
It was about 14-18 inches long had that antenna and the power lead to it too. I believe they called it a antenna booster or amplifier????? I do know it was in 2003 though. As usual it was good so might have been discontinued like other good things have .
