Correct bolt hole location for Sport mirrors ?

I think this has been posted before but can't find it. Want to add factory (repo) sport mirrors to my 70. IIRC the passenger side is set farther back, right ? Also does the factory ocation work well ? Thanks in advance.

Re: Correct bolt hole location for Sport mirrors ?

The picture is the factory RH sport mirror placement as located on my 72 C10 measured from the front edge of the door. The penciled line is one inch below the door body line. Looks like the drivers side is 1.3 inches further forward, per the assy manual. Hope this helps.

Re: Correct bolt hole location for Sport mirrors ?

Getting ready to drill some holes, anyone have any other suggetions on where to mount the sport mirrors, just would like some assurance whether the factory locations are the best, or if you can cheat some and make it better. Doors are off of truck and cab is stripped now so it would be kinf of hard to eyeball it now, I'm about 6'2" tall if that makes any difference in mirror placement - Thanks again.

Exclamation Re: Correct bolt hole location for Sport mirrors ?

TIP: Mount the psgr side mirror as high as you can in the "normal" mounting position range. It will make it easier to see.
