Classic Performance Modular Drop Spindles CP30106-HD3

Hey guys I ordered these spindles Classic Performance Modular Drop Spindles CP30106-HD3 from summit. After installing I found the dust shields aren't used, the calipers need an additional bracket and the 72 upper ball joints are loose in the spindle. Cpp says these are intended to be used with the 71-87 ball joints, but I was under the impression that they changed the upper ball joints in 73. Another site has the same part number as being intended to upgrade the 1/2 brakes to 3/4 ton, but that's not listed anywhere on the summit page. Anyone out there have a similar issue if you ordered these spindles? Are the upper ball joints from 73 up a larger diameter? I can push the top of the wheel in a good inch or two and the tires are leaning inward.

According to the website, those are 3/4 ton to 1/2 ton conversion spindles.

Re: Classic Performance Modular Drop Spindles CP30106-HD3

Yep. Cpp responded as well last night. Summit racing had them listed as applicable for a c10. Nowhere in the description was it listed that those were for 3/4 ton trucks. The only notable difference on the summit site between CP-30106-3 and CP-30106-HD3 was an additional 0.5 inches on the drop. For anyone searching in the future, looking to order the Cpp modular drop spindles for a c10, the proper part number is CP-30106-3.
