I've read your entire build thread and can see the quality of your work. Love the truck and your work btw. I know you weren't defending yourself from me but to clarify, my post was intended to describe worst case scenarios. Worst case scenario it would take... blah blah blah and so on and so forth.

^I'm with you on this. It's one thing to discuss by raising concerns, offering advice on a potentially better way or something like that. But to just say it's dumb, well, let's just say I agree with your last sentence and leave it at that.

Thanks I take pride in my work and I do take safety serious. I don't think I would do these mods without qualifications. I bypass all the drama in life and only take good out of what's said. Not everyone agrees with choices anyone makes. Drive the trucks and enjoy them as I do every time I'm in it.

Re: Cab fuel filler to rear tank

I really like this idea, I like the classic look of the filler tube on the cab, but agree it is a swell idea to remove the fuel from the cab. Do you forsee any filling delay with the long horizontal run you have to the tank?

Thanks it has worked out great, I've already put a couple of tanks in it and it runs about 3/4 on the fill nozzle. No big deal to me as I'm in no hurry these days and it's only a summer truck so all good.

Hi Metaldoc - just wondering how this mod has been going for you, long term (and assuming you still have this setup).

I really want more room inside the cab (I'm a stereo guy) and a slightly bigger tank is a plus too. I also want to keep the original fill location - well because I want it to look original.

I have a feeling I'd be mulling this over for a long time for my 72 LWB Truck.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Working great, not one issue. I'm a stereo guy as well.

Re: Cab fuel filler to rear tank

What type of material did you use for the tubing from the cab to the rear of the truck? I was wondering if EMT conduit would work or if the zinc coating would cause a problem with the fuel.

Re: Cab fuel filler to rear tank

I'm installing a blazer tank side fill under the bed. But plan on filling through the bed wheel well. But was thinking of keeping the original fill neck on the cab for the original look.

I used tubing from my daughters old bunk beds and some exhaust tubing the has galv on it. No problems with zinc. I add zinc to the oil and gas with my original 283 any ways. It's been 5 years without issues
